back in high school, my sister, best friend, and I thought it would be a great idea to do the 3 day diet and lose some weight. now i’m not a fan of any diet because once you go off it, you generally gain back the weight UNLESS you choose to use the diet as a guide, to help you eat better for the rest of your life. i’m in no way saying i’m going to stop eating the things I want to eat because I love food, cooking, and baking but there’s a way to do it. there’s moderation and limitations and smaller portions that you eat more frequently and excercising so you can eat such foods. I am in no way a nutritionist or one of those people who are going to criticize what anyone eats.. I just thought I’d share this diet since we are trying it again seven years later.. it’s an introduction into me eating better, if you will. in my opinion, breakfast and dinner are extremely important and so are small snacks/fruits/veggies throughout the day. and what really keeps me sane throughout the day is coffee! the one thing I could never give up 😉

Beverages allowed: black coffee or tea and water

Condiments: mustard, salt, pepper, lemon, cooking spray

Day 1-

Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit (or 1 orange) & 1 slice of toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter

Lunch: 1/2 cup of tuna .. 1 slice of toast

Dinner: 3 oz. any lean meat .. 1 cup of green beans .. 1 cup of carrots .. 1 cup of vanilla ice cream (or frozen yogurt) .. 1 medium apple

Day 2-

Breakfast: 1 egg (any style) .. 1 slice of toast .. 1 banana

Lunch: 1 cup 2% cottage cheese (or 1 cup of tuna) .. 5 saltine crackers (or a piece of toast)

Dinner: 2 beef franks .. 1/2 cup carrots.. 1 banana .. 1 cup broccoli or cabbage (you can do 1 cup green beans) .. 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream (or fro yo)

Day 3-

Breakfast: 5 regular saltines (or a piece of toast) .. 1 oz. (slice) cheddar cheese .. 1 small apple

Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg.. 1 slice of toast

Dinner: 1 cup of tuna.. 1 cup of carrots .. 1 cup of cauliflower (green beans) .. 1 cup of melon .. 1/2 cup regular ice cream (or fro yo)

the point of this is, you’re supposed to lose 10 lbs in 3 days which is exactly what happened seven years ago.. the problem is it doesn’t stay off unless you’re keeping up with a healthier way of eating and excercising at least four days a week – it’s more.. if you need to lose weight quickly for something like a birthday, wedding, vacation, etc. but it can help, as i said previously. if anyone does decide to try it, please let me know what your results were 🙂
