you are the poem I don’t know how to write,
the words I don’t know how to translate.
the kiss we’ve longed for, for months.
the kiss you finally made happen.
you are the best story I have,
and I keep it hidden between us.
you are the beginning
into a life of beauty, youth, and meaning.
you are the emotions that are evoked
under my skin, on my lips, at the tip of my tongue-
down to my bones shaking, I can feel you.
but I can’t put it into words.
I’m overwhelmed into silence.
this has never happened before.
the greatest story ever told
lies between our bodies.
