It’s not about the expectation that someone will do what you will, be there like you have, love like you can.. it’s the belief that they’re a good person and then the pain of betrayal when you find out they’re not decent enough to even be honest, selfless enough to return the favor of comforting you, or care enough to apologize. it’s not some expectation of equality, it’s more the belief of knowing someone and then in your own darkest hour, the realization that you don’t.
