they asked me what i thought about hate crimes. i said:
they’re not hate crimes, they’re acts of discrimination decorated with a fancy phrase to make it excusable and justifiable. they’re not acts of free will but acts of ill will. justice will be never be achieved through violent movements. what makes these citizens different than those who implemented slavery and the holocaust. there is a fine line between standing for what you believe in i.e. Martin Luther King Jr. who fought for a cause and tried to make a better world and those sparking bombs and killing cops and calling it right. there is nothing right about “hate crimes,” and nothing will ever be made right as a result.
