sometimes I wonder how I trust anyone. & then I realize, the people I do trust have withstood time with me. & those who I haven’t known as long, have proved their trust as I’ve proved mine. they have each stood, by my side, without request when I needed them most. we take care of each other, loyal to a fault. dna is irrelevant because at the end of the day, we’re family. & I’d fight every battle again for each one of you. ❤
Remember. Honor what’s important. A dedication to those soldiers who have given their lives, who have sacrificed, who have taken risks, who have fallen in war & bloodshed. It is not how they died but how they lived, the choices they made to be the strong representation of dignity and honor, to be the character of a nation. This is not a day of grief but a day of pride, in our own. Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸😘❤💙

crimson pupils never shed a tear
but there’s a storm gathering in her eyes.
shot at, nearly lost her life
about a hundred times.
but there’s no cracks in her skin,
there’s no blood leaking out,
beat until her bones bruise-
there’s no breaking her backbone down.
flashbacks of sandblasts. lives lost.
she falls asleep to terrified, painful
screams. every action has a cost,
all those lives lost, took some
for good measure.
a grenade like that
only stays silent for so long, weighs
down until it explodes. it’s a battle
between murderers and the brave,
between those who have nothing to lose
and those who have everything to lose.
it’s all a choice. she walks down a blood spilled
road, sheds some along the way.
an eye for an eye,
leaves the world without sight.
blood for blood,
solidifies an endless fight.
