defense is the immediate act of war but instead of responding with hate towards the crime, try reacting with love towards what you’re fighting for. peace delivers answers, reactions, & effectiveness. violence delivers more violence.
Memorial Day is not about whether or not you agree with war. today’s about the fact that people gave up some portion of their lives, whether entirely or in part, they did it to fight for this country’s freedom and i don’t care about your political views – you acknowledge the humans that bleed just like you and me who went above and beyond for the people, fought to give us what we have now, sacrificed for our rights. you don’t have to agree with war but these people deserve respect, gratitude, and remembrance for all they did.

Remember. Honor what’s important. A dedication to those soldiers who have given their lives, who have sacrificed, who have taken risks, who have fallen in war & bloodshed. It is not how they died but how they lived, the choices they made to be the strong representation of dignity and honor, to be the character of a nation. This is not a day of grief but a day of pride, in our own. Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸😘❤💙

crimson pupils never shed a tear
but there’s a storm gathering in her eyes.
shot at, nearly lost her life
about a hundred times.
but there’s no cracks in her skin,
there’s no blood leaking out,
beat until her bones bruise-
there’s no breaking her backbone down.
flashbacks of sandblasts. lives lost.
she falls asleep to terrified, painful
screams. every action has a cost,
all those lives lost, took some
for good measure.
a grenade like that
only stays silent for so long, weighs
down until it explodes. it’s a battle
between murderers and the brave,
between those who have nothing to lose
and those who have everything to lose.
it’s all a choice. she walks down a blood spilled
road, sheds some along the way.
an eye for an eye,
leaves the world without sight.
blood for blood,
solidifies an endless fight.

spilling blood will not bear beauty,
it will not bring solace-
it will turn over graves,
uncover skulls and skeletons.
corrupt the innocence
and poison the brave.
if power is what you seek,
true power is not what you will receive,
for you are not God –
you do not decide who lives or dies.
you cannot armor humans
and then declare them casualties of war.
peace will not be delivered
by slitting a throat.
fighting for a cause,
and dying for a cause
that will never be fulfilled
by blood splatter.
violence is fueled by evil; it will
consequently bloom more evil.
it’s the moment of truth and
at the end of the day,
the destruction you bestow will result
in the spill of your own blood.
